Counselling

Counselling is a supportive, safe, and confidential collaboration between qualified counsellors and clients to promote and foster mental health and wellbeing, promote self-awareness, and enhance self-understanding, while identifying and addressing specific concerns.

Counselling is a profession with a solid evidence base grounded in substantial empirical evidence. Counsellors are trained in various therapeutic approaches and a range of modalities to work with clients from diverse backgrounds. The scope of counselling can be either comprehensive or focused, depending on the needs and preferences of the individual.

Counselling can lead to various transformations such as shifts in perspective and viewpoint, gaining fresh insights, adopting new thought patterns towards situations, heightened awareness of emotions, improved ability to manage and control emotions, implementing new behaviours, and making different life choices.

Counsellors provide support and guidance to individuals from various backgrounds, including children, young adults, adults, couples, families, and groups. The duration of counselling sessions can vary depending on the client’s specific needs, ranging from short-term to long-term therapeutic relationships that may span a lifetime.
