For the last 18-months ATMS have been working collaboratively with other industry Associations to create a unified voice for the complementary medicine industry.

ATMS has lodged its initial submission to the Natural Therapies Review 2019 – 2020. Initial submissions closed 7 August 2019 and were requested to address the draft Terms of Reference for the review. Suitably qualified individuals were also asked to nominate to the Natural Therapies Review Expert Advisory Panel.

On Friday 10 May, ATMS President Peter Berryman, attended the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia (CMBA) meeting with six other national Associations and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

On Monday 10 September 2018 the current Governments’ health insurance reform laws were passed by the Senate. It will now be a straightforward process for those laws to be in place by 01 April 2019.

The removal of Homoeopathy from the Health Training Package, coupled with the findings of the NHMRC report, meant that since 2016, there have been no opportunities left for those wishing to study Homoeopathy in Australia.
